Hawkeyes: Iowa makes changes to gameday experience for fans
University of Iowa creates new traditions and eliminates old ones
New gameday experience
Beginning this season, the University of Iowa football team will debut a number of new gameday experiences for fans. These changes are designed to enhance the fan experience and create a more exciting and memorable atmosphere at Kinnick Stadium.
One of the most notable changes is the elimination of the traditional "Wave" that has been a part of Iowa football games for many years. The Wave will be replaced by a new tradition called the "Iowa Wave," which will involve fans waving their arms in unison while shouting "Go Hawks!"
Other new traditions include the "Stripe Out," in which fans will wear either black or gold to create a checkerboard effect in the stands, and the "Victory March," which will see the team take a lap around the stadium following each home victory.
In addition to these new traditions, Iowa is also making a number of changes to its gameday operations. These changes include:
- Expanding the number of concessions and restrooms
- Adding new video boards and sound systems
- Improving the Wi-Fi service
- Creating new areas for fans to socialize and tailgate
